TAMAR MYERS

Tamar Myers graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a BA in anthropology. She studied massage at the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts and began her private practice as a massage therapist in 1992. After completing MTI’s teacher training program, she taught massage technique, clinical preparation, sports massage, assessment and treatment planning in addition to other courses from 1994 until the end of 2008.

In 1996, Tamar was introduced to the work of Judith Aston and was immediately drawn to the work because of her own interest in movement and Aston’s comprehensive approach to tension patterns. She is a certified practitioner of Aston-Patterner and has taken more advanced training and fitness training with Judith Aston as well. Tamar is currently in the Aston Patterning teacher training program with Judith Aston.

Tamar has also completed advanced coursework in Craniosacral therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Neuromuscular Therapy, Soft Tissue Injury Assessment and Treatment, and Neural Manipulatio. She is most interested in helping people unravel their complex tension patterns using a variety of bodywork modalities and movement.

When not practicing in her office or teaching, Tamar is probably doing something active. She is committed to exercising, taking long walks with her dog in the woods, and can often be found on the dance floor enjoying folk dancing, contradance, east and west coast swing, and lindy-hop.
