ASTON® TECHNIQUES II WITH ALLISON SAGEWIND

Aston® Techniques II - "Seeing" and Teaching Bodies in Motion
Open to all health professionals who have completed Aston Techniques I and are qualified to teach movement/exercise education according to their state's laws.
This dynamic course builds on information learned in Aston Techniques I, focusing on seeing, experiencing and coaching movement in conjunction with understanding alignment.
The skills taught for seeing alignment are carried into the assessment of the body in motion. Learn movement designs which can be tailored to your client's specific needs so they can learn to release habitual tension patterns and explore new possibilities for alignment. Understand the application of ergonomic supports for more ease and comfort. The knowledge of basic movement functions enhances all aspects of complex human function. This class begins applying the Aston-MechanicsĀ® principles of alignment and movement to sitting, standing, bending, reaching and walking.

The Bodywork Education Project is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. This program has been approved for a maximum of (7) hours of Category A continuing education. ABOUT ALLISON SAGEWIND

Allison Sagewind has 26 years experience in the health field. She has practiced Aston-Patterning since 1993 and has been a faculty member for Aston
Kinetics Inc. since 2000. She is an instructor for the four Aston-Patterning prerequisite classes and is currently in training to teach at the certification level. She began her career in a sports medicine - spine clinic as well as an out patient hospital clinic as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Texas.
She specialized in myofascial release and cranial sacral therapy. Trained by Michael Shea, Rolfer. She has also studied and practiced Feldenkrais, Zero Balancing, Orthobionomy, McKenzie, and Dynamic Stabilization.
In 1994, Allison opened her Aston-Patterning private practice in Winter Park, Colorado and enjoyed working with the local athletes. She then moved to Nevada in 1999 to further her studies with Judith Aston. She has a full time Aston-Patterning practice comprised of private clients and monthly classes in which she teaches Aston-Mechanics Basics, Aston fitness, and Aston Facial Fitness.
