MYOFASCIAL WORK FOR THE FACE, SCALP AND TEMPOROMANDIBULAR
JOINT WITH LOU BENSON

In this class, we will focus on accuracy in palpation of and Myofascial applications for the muscles and fascial structures of the Face, Scalp and Temporomandibular Joint.

This work is often beneficial in addressing stress related TMJ disorders and tension headaches. I have also had success using these techniques for relieving sinus congestion and anxiety.

On the first day, we’ll get right into Intra-oral work for the TM Joint, Pterygoid muscles and Masseters. The class is set up in a round robin style, so that each person has a chance to accurately palpate all structures and practice demonstrated techniques on more than one person.

On the second day, specific work for the Scalp, Occipitalis, Frontalis, Masseters, Temporalis, Suprahyoids, and the muscles of facial expression will be demonstrated and practiced. We will also palpate and practice gentle fascial techniques for restrictions in sutural movement.

Class Size Limited to 3 students

You must have a minimum of 1 year’s practice as a certified MT to join this class.
