CARING FOR TRAUMATIC INJURIES WITH KATE PECK

When an injury happens, the body goes into a protective mode while the injury heals. You will learn about a variety of common musculoskeletal injuries and how you can safely begin manual therapy during this acute stage. This work is safe and gentle, so as to calm traumatized tissues to support and enhance the healing process.
Sometimes, long after the injury has healed, the body is still in protection mode, only it is no longer helpful. It may actually be contributing to continued dysfunction. In this series, you will learn gentle, light-touch techniques to release trauma from the body, “normalize” and restore pliability to the soft tissues, and allow the joint to realign for optimal function.
All techniques are based on Kate’s blend of myofascial, craniosacral and energetic modalities.
Kate Peck, a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer and Bodywork teacher with over 25 years’ experience, has designed this series of classes to follow Lou Benson’s Anatomy Craze* one Tuesday morning per month. Classes may be taken in any order.
*Note that Kate’s monthly class topics are designed to follow Lou Benson’s Anatomy Craze classes. While Anatomy Craze is NOT required to take classes in this series, students joining Kate’s classes are expected to be able to accurately locate and palpate featured structures.
